Long-distance move from Ontario to Quebec

Landmark.

Landmark arrived promptly at the scheduled time for my move from Ottawa to Montreal. The rate charged was very reasonable (compared to quotes received from other moving companies). The 2 men were professional, and took care to ensure that nothing was damaged en route.

Stay away guys.

Hi All, Please don't hire this company. My sincere request to everyone not to hire this company for any moving. I was told delivery date would be 5 to 6 working days from the date of pick up but delivered after 40 days. I almost lived in a desert along with my 3 months infant in new house. Customer representatives will keep giving new dates when ever you call them but deliver after taking their own sweet time. I called on landmark guys so many times but of no use.no humans work in this company to listen to your problems or concerns. funny stuff is, I was delivered with 50% broken furniture , 50% furniture lost, my iphone (new) that was kept inside a unlocked check in bag was missing :), I hope you all have got a clear picture of my experience what I have undergone with this company. I have submitted the claim finally (60 cents /lb ) which is a peanut again! I am still waiting waiting waiting for the claim, missed luggage and all other stuff. It looks like landmark needs another 3 weeks to investigate on my missing stuff :D. I am just making you aware and wanted everyone to please stay away from this company. I have raised a case in consumer protection Ontario, but no update from them too yet :(.

Very Pleased With Moving Company.

My name is Mark T. I moved from BC-Toronto. I moved in Aug 2014 from a 1bedroom apartment to a 1bedroom condo. I had a lot of expensive antique furniture to move. It was passed down to me from my grandma. I tried to Tell the movers a bit about my items, but they spoke another language. I was worried that I was hiring inexperienced movers, but after all said and done my stuff arrived and I was very happy that they all came in one piece. I recommend Landmark to everyone.

Service cost: $1678

Dear Mark T,

Thank you for choosing Landmark Van Lines for your moving needs. We hope to serve you for your next move.

Long-distance move from Ontario to Quebec

Very bad customers services after they get your order.

I received several quotes, went with them as they were offering 5 weeks free storage.  The pick went well, the delivery was HELL, they promised to come a Saturday, they did not show and did not call to let me know they could not make it.  Matthew said they will come the following Wednesday, same thing no one showed up and no call.  Called them again was told the following Saturday they will come again, no show, they finally said the following Wednesday at 7:00 AM, however got a phone call Tuesday evening that they will be here between 10:00 and 12:00, had to take the full day off from work to accommodate them.   My furniture was damaged, they overcharged me, provided weight without evidence it was for my move.  They did not use cover for the floor, asked me to remove the blankets from the furniture, they did not take time to check if there was damaged to the furniture.  I called several times, no ones could tell what was going on with my complaints.  They kept telling to ask for Matthew then Henry and Steve, I left messages after messages with so far no return to my messages.
They even offered me someone else sofa chair which did look like one of mine but was not, if I had not checked someone would have a chair missing.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM FOR LONG DISTANCE MOVES, THEY ARE VERY RUDE ONCE THEY OBTAIN YOUR CONFIRMATION FOR YOUR MOVE.   TERRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNETHICAL, and EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL!!

Lost my Item.

THE WORSE MOVING COMPANY EVER!! I contacted them more than a month ago, Matthew sound very professional and responsible and as soon as I booked with them, they started acting extremely disrecpecful. I called them several and they just put on hold for 20 min or longer. When I finally have my furniture delivered I noticed there was a box missing, so called them to make a claim and their very cheap receptionist did not let me to contact their representative (Tracey or Matthew) and her answer was that "SHE DOES NOT GET PAY ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH MY [EDIT]!". Clearly she doesn't get pay at all! Plese STAY AWAY from this company! They are TERRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNETHICAL, and EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL!! Today I still haven't heard from them.

Long-distance move from Ontario to British Columbia

Moving nightmare.

I could spend hours writing about the nightmare we've been through with this company. My estimate was 6,000 pounds. Charged for 10,1000. They also added surcharges and wharehouse charges that I was never quoted or spoken to about. My invoice from Ontario to BC was 6900. They charged my credit card $268 more than that and will not speak to me about it. Steve hasn't returned one call or email from me. I have photos showing out boxes coming off the truck crushed, we are missing 11 boxes and all they tell me on the phone is that I'm harrassing them. This company has got to be held accountable. I should have done my homework better before hiring the most unprofessional company out there. I encourage others to notify us and we group together and expose this company what they are. They don't have an"office". They aren't transparent in any way. They hide behind phone lines and mess with their clients lives. They are abusive on the phone telling me I am harrassing them and I need to get a job. please feel free to contact me at northbrock@hotmail.com.

No refunds.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. But if you must, then be ready to lose your deposit if they come six hours late to do your move and then tell you they will charge you an extra $400 because of something they never told you would cost you when you booked your move. They absolutely will not give you back your money no matter what. This happened to me, and I tried to get my money back for several months before finally giving up.

I am very thankful for landmark vanlines. It was my first time moving and I need to do it as soon as possible. When I called the customer service they were very friendly and when I met the movers they were on time and they handled my things as carefully as possible. I got the best price too. Long-distance move from Manitoba to Alberta

Landmark Van Lines.

After finding Landmark on the Web, I was put in contact with Courtney regarding the movement of two pieces of furniture from Manitoba to Lethbridge, Alberta.  My father in the process of moving into a seniors' complex, and Courtney had assured me that a truck would arrive on the day of his stated move.  He waited hours for a truck, but to no avail.
I contacted the company the following day, as with the new homeowners moving in, I would need specifics regarding when the truck would arrive.  Courtney answered, but claimed she would miss her carpool if she dealt with my concern, concluding that a truck would arrive the next day. With the new homeowner now moved in--and with the furniture still in his new house, I phoned Landmark to again ask when a truck would arrive.  The dispatcher made it clear a truck was within the hour, and that the homeowner should await its imminent arrival.  Four hours later, with no truck coming, I called the company and was informed that the truck had broken down just outside of town. With each failed instance of following through with their word, there was no call or attempt to email on behalf of the company.
Our last dealings with them came on the following Monday, when after calling them, I was informed they had cancelled their contract. In summary, my experience with the company could only be characterized as pitiful.  Courtney had assured me with absolute certainty that a truck would arrive, and the broken promises led to incredible stress and inconvenience for all parties involved.
I have  never experienced such incompetence from a professional company, and Landmark has made me wary of any moving company.  I would STRONGLY dissuade any person from entering into a contract with them out of fear they might fall prey to the same negligence and callow interaction.  Truly this is a heartless organization who have obviously exaggerated what services they can offer. Shame.

Long-distance move from Ontario to British Columbia

Honesty not their policy.

My possessions were just picked up 5 days ago and already I am having serious issues with this company.  They basically said what I wanted to hear to get my business and everything has gone south since then.  I was told by Courtney that my things would be picked up on my scheduled date and stored in Toronto until the first available truck went to Vancouver.  I was asked if I preferred storage in Toronto or Vancouver and I asked for Vancouver.   Apparently Courtney did not check to see if there was storage availability in Vancouver when we made the contract.  The movers were very good.  Since then I have been contacted by Tracy to tell me that my things are going to be stored in Toronto until I need them instead of being shipped to Vancouver where I was told.  I am now being told that they only ship to Vancouver on the 5th and the 20th of the month and originally I was told that trucks go weekly.  So if I need my stuff I have to give them a months notice to get it shipped out here and delivered unless I am willing to pay for a private storage area.  My stuff is basically being held ransom with this company.  I never would have gone with them had they been honest in the first place.  .

Long-distance move from Ontario to British Columbia

Big dissappointment.

We moved from Ontario to British Columbia Canada.
First of all they were very late picking up our goods. when we were on the road we got a notice that the ENTIRE BILL would have to be paid before the goods would be shipped from the warehouse. We then had to make arrangement to get the money to them.
The movers were several days late arriving at our destination, and when the arrived, one was sick and the other had a broken toe.
Several boxes were missing and the moving personnel rolled our new kitchen table down the walkway resulting in damage to the edge of the table. I put in a claim and received $80.00 for my damages and missing boxes. THEY ONLY PAY FOR YOUR DAMAGES AND MISSING ITEMS BY THE POUND!

Needless to say I will NEVER EVER use this company again.

Long-distance move from Ontario to British Columbia

Move from Barrie ON to Kelowna BC.

While consulting with many moving companies one of my calls
was to Matthew at Landmark Van Lines. The pricing he gave me was competitive with the other companies I spoke with although not the lowest, but his salesmanship was what sold me on his company. As well as selling me on his company itself, he offered me extra incentives and perks to entice me to go with Landmark.
After contemplating all the companies I had spoken with I did decide to use them for my move from Barrie ON to Kelowna, BC because of Matthew alone.
We had several conversations and spoke extensively regarding the process. I have never used a moving company before and had great trepidation in doing so. He was very patient and quite thorough and assured me of all the benefits his company would offer me, most importantly providing me with a stress free move. He advised me that while his company did not have a consultant come to my residence to provide weight estimates as others did, he could go through everything with me over the telephone. We spent quite some time on the phone going through every item I had to be shipped. I gave him measurements for specific items, size, type and build of the few furniture items, number of boxes and rough weight of the boxes, etc. I had no fridge, stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer, or microwave, no living room furniture, television or stereo being shipped. I was extremely thorough as I had explained to him that I wanted NO surprises and required as realistic quote as possible. He assured me we could achieve this over the telephone and that he has done
this many time previous as this is the company’s procedure, and that I had nothing to worry about. He offered me a specific quote over the phone, stating that while the industry standard was 1000 lbs for my size home, he expected that I would be closer to 2000 or very slightly above. He suggested to be safe he would put his quote at 2500 lbs, though he did not expect it would go that high, but also suggesting a slight possibility of being 100 or 2 pounds off. He also advised my preferred pick up date could be accommodated.
My quote included: the first 500 lbs free, and anything over that 2500 pounds @ $0.45 l/b with the total weight quoted at 2500 lbs as per Matthews consultation, 7 weeks of free storage, and any storage requirements after that at 5% of the weight charges, a $100 warehouse handling fee, a $100 destination surcharge fee, and a $40 scale fee. My total quote was $1165 (plus 5% destination taxes). He guaranteed me I would not be billed anything further (save for the possibility of being off by 100 or 2 pounds). I was extremely happy with this verbal quote and wisely had it emailed to me before agreeing to book their services.
The truck arrived relatively on time (they were an acceptable time frame for being late). The two gentlemen that packed everything up were fantastic. They were very polite and took great care of my items, advising me what may need more protection and wrapping everything well for me. I was very pleased with them and putting everything into the truck went very well.
And that was as long as the joy for Landmark Van lines lasted.
I received a statement from them 3 days later that was nowhere
near the estimate Matthew gave me. The weight was 62% higher than he advised with the billing priced at 125% higher. I was absolutely shocked and dumfounded, I cannot fathom any ethical reason for this to happen. I was billed the wrong rate, there was no deduction on the first 500 lbs, I was advised the wrong free storage time frame, and I was billed 14% storage fees!
Not only this, but the destination listed on the invoice was WRONG and I am not even sure the bill I received is for my things!
I immediately addressed these concerns with the ‘accounting
manager’ Tracy, to which I was met with nothing but disrespect and animosity. It became an immediate argument to have my 7 weeks storage addressed, after which I was billed $282 (14% of the weight charges) for my monthly storage. I began paying that believing all the other issues would work themselves out and this would chip down on my total fees once all my billing was properly adjusted.
In the 10 months since Landmark has had my things I have
being trying desperately to have this worked out and received nothing but disrespect in the process. I have had to supply all the information I had on my communications with Matthew (instead of her finding out this information, correcting the invoice, and getting back to me) to date, the ‘final corrected bill’ I have received still does not reflect the original quote. She advised that regardless of what is stated in my quote, the outrageous billing for their claimed weight still stands, and that storage is always based on the weight pounds not the weight charges. I advised her that I followed her company’s procedure for the estimate to the letter, and while I would certainly understand a slight acceptable adjustment for error, (I believe 10% to be acceptable) I cannot comprehend a 62% difference, especially in light of what I knew was being transported by them. I also advised that regardless of how they normally charge for storage, my quote stated it would be 5% of what I was being billed for the weight itself and that they should be upholding that. (I still have not found a storage unit that’s rate is based on the weight of what’s being stored, or that charges $282 for such a small space) She is refusing. I had requested on multiple occasions to speak with someone above Tracy to rectify this which was flat out denied, she claimed she is the last stop and the only person I can deal with. In the meantime, she has threatened me with the storage facility closing (and therefor all my things must be immediately removed) as well as sending my invoice to her ‘legal team’. At this point, I requested to speak with her ‘legal team’ post haste, as I wanted to know how it is possible or acceptable for a company to waiver so much from a verbal and written quote. She also denied me that possibility.
I finally managed to speak on the telephone with ‘Steve’ who claimed to be the general manager. He basically heard my story, then responded in the same disrespectful arrogant and unethical fashion that I had been dealing with from Tracy for months. When I advised him that my items would easily fit in a 8 x 10 storage unit which would cost under $80 per month, he said that there was no way my items would fit in that size space (regardless of my advising him that I had stored the same items in this size space previous to this or the fact that he had no idea what I had even shipped) and he actually suggested to prove me wrong that I find a storage unit and he would ship my items from Toronto to Kelowna, place them in the unit, and when they didn’t fit, he would have everything returned to Toronto to their unit. He admitted to me that the wording of the storages fees was wrong on their part, but since they always charge storage based of the actual weight (not the weight charges) that is how they would be billing me. I told him he cannot change my billing because of their error but he refused to amend this and said I would be charged as per their procedure, not what I was told. He also said no one talks to owners of business when they have issues with their bills and compared it to a Rogers bill, that if I had an issue with it would I be speaking with Ted Rogers about it? Though I could not comprehend the relevance, I advised him that as a matter of fact, I had. Steve then belittled the possibility, then said ‘so you must have problems with everyone and go after all companies then’. Because I laughed at how preposterous his statements were becoming, he said I was not being serious enough and chastised me like a child. He also advised me they have no ‘legal team’ that Tracy had spoken of, simply retained lawyers in the event that they are sued, and that without suing them they would not involve lawyers, to which he welcomed I sue them if I wanted lawyers involved. I advised him I have no further funds to put towards this as it should have been considered fully paid based on my quote. I also asked him why his company’s on line reviews show that this is regular practice for them and that it is their procedures that are the problem, and how they treat their customers. He then offered to send me invoices from all his ‘happy’ customers, which is in itself another unethical practice. He was outright rude in his dealing with me and refused to come to any type of agreement to get my items to me.
I have paid them $1880 and fully expected that this should more than pay for their services in full as per the original agreed upon telephone quote. This appears to not be the case. Tracy is now telling me that unless I pay the current (and still wrong) remaining bill of $2434.18 my items will be either ‘disposed of’ or auctioned off.
At this point in time I have no possibility of putting any further monies towards this, and as I said, should have been paid in full and my items received 5 months ago. Instead of upholding their salespersons guarantee they have held my belongings and continued to increase my bill by carrying on the exuberant monthly storage fees. I now have family issues that make it imperative for me to receive my belongings, which include remains of deceased family members and the only items remaining of them, as well as 20 years of my children’s lives in photos and mementos (among other things).
Sadly, I see from many on line reviews this is the regular
practice for this company-overbilling and holding clients items for ransom in particular. I am dreading how many of my items will be damaged or missing which is also prevalent in Landmark Van Lines reviews.
At this point in time they have blocked my email address
from their entire system as they don’t want to hear anything from me other than when I’m am going to pay their $2500 bill. In other words, they are refusing to take accountability for their salespersons verbal guarantee to me and holding my belongings hostage until they are paid what they believe they are owed. I
have been advised that as of tomorrow, if their perception of my outstanding bill is not paid, they are going to either dispose of or auction off my belongings. I am still waiting to hear what the going rate is on human remains and a strangers baby photos. This is the worst possible situation I could have ever expected from any company, especially after the way I was warmly treated by their salesperson when making the sale, and everyone needs to know how awful this company is regardless of what their website claims!! Even worse, they seem to have no concern whatsoever for what they are doing to their customers.
The reviews for this company show that clearly, this is not just me, or anything to do with my behavior. Every review has the same story as mine, this is how this company treats all of their customers. They don’t even care about their negative reviews!
This is despicable. I have no idea how they maintain a business licence. They obviously have chosen to take full advantage of the fact that their industry is not governed.

Note: I have not commented on 'items condition after delivery' as my belongings have not yet been delivered. I dread what I am going to see if and when I ever receive my belongings..

Avoid this Company.

Many, many issues here with our recent move. As another user mentions - check their BBB rating/reviews before considering. I wish I had. Missed pick up dates, missed delivery dates, I feel I was overcharged, then I've had extra charges to my credit card after delivery..without my consent. Very dubious business and I am likely going to have to start legal proceedings. I have started a BBB complaint with no response to date. Avoid.

Long-distance move from Nova Scotia to Ontario

Worst mover ever.

I received a quote for moving our household from Upper Tantallon, NS to Nepean, ON, February 18th for $1040: $0.50/lb x 2000 lbs.
The actual charge ended up being 1730 + HST = 1954, which means the initial quote was deceptively too low. They refused to unload the truck unless you sign off on the higher price, which means they hold you hostage. Complaining to your credit card company of the inflated price then is useless because of your signature.

Their price match policy is deceptive because they're matching the price per kg, and then lowball their kg estimate of the move to underquote the competition.

Then, in early February, I called to confirm the day and time of pick up, and the estimated day of delivery; I was told Feb 17 I would receive a call confirming time of pick up on the 18th, and that delivery would be 2-4 days (21-22 Feb).

BUT: We did not receive the day before call, and I had to call first thing on the 18th to get the pick up time. I was told 4-6pm. This was our planned departure day and we could not wait ourselves, but left my mother in charge of the pick up.

The pick up actually happened around lunch time. The crew dismantled the bunk beds to load on the truck. After they left, while she was cleaning up, my mother discovered a few screws and brackets from the beds that they had left behind and has subsequently mailed that to us at our own cost.

When we next called for an update on delivery time, we were told Feb 28th - a full week later than our original quote. We husband called repeatedly to confirm this date, and always got Feb 28, with assurance that the day before we would be called to confirm a time.

BUT: We never got that call. So, we called the morning of the 28th but only got through to answering machines. Sunday the 29th we finally got a text saying delivery would be that evening. It was about 7:30 - 8 pm when the truck finally came.

The delivery felt rather rushed. Blankets and runners were put down, but our carpets were still soiled as the movers did not restrict themselves to the runners, nor did they put the runners all the way to the bedrooms. They also broke a picture during the move. They also pulled a strip off our hardwood floor step, but replaced it on the spot.

In addition, a whiteboard was damaged before entering the house: a few deep dents and the frame has been pulled off at one corner.

And, a table leg was ripped off the table, but we repaired it with a few screws.

The bunk bed mattresses are missing and the screws and brackets to put it back together. The onsite movers told us that there were in one of our boxes. We were not told which box. We have now opened all the boxes we received and have not found the screws and brackets. Upon closer inspection of the inventory list, we discovered that a RubberMate, and at least one other carton is missing also. We are not sure of this carton’s number because the stickers were off these boxes by the time we inspected them, but I can only account for 19 of the 20 cartons listed on the inventory.

The actual cost of the the move was $1954.90. Almost double the quote of $1040. This is actually higher than all other quotes we received, even one that sent a person to walk through and visually estimate the cost.

The bunk beds and mattresses were only a few months old (purchased in September), and are necessary for our children to sleep on. Currently, they are sleeping on the floor. Two whole bunk bed mattresses were lost. We recovered some screwed mailed to us by my mother, but other screws and brackets are missing.

Attempting to complain to Landmark was a nightmare. Promises to return calls and process applications were not met. Their resolution for these complaints is to:
1. Refuse to apologize
2. Offer only $200 for the damaged and missing parts, which doesn't even cover a bunk bed mattress, let alone the bunk bed that cannot be re-assembled without the missing parts. They restrict their legal liability to 60 cents / pound, which doesn't come close to replacement cost of the things we lost.

They could not have done a worse job, either before, during, or after the move, nor treated us with less contempt. Do not use this mover.

Quick and fast moving company.

Quick and fast moving company.

I contracted this company to move my small appartement from Montreal to Toronto.

They took good care of my things and didn't damage my house. Movers were very helpful and were equipped with dollies and blanket for everything.

At the end I didn't had to do anything which was what I was expecting.

Finally the price was ok, could have been cheaper.. always! But in the end, it was worth it.

Thanks.

Great and fast.

We used landmark van lines to move our home from Ottawa to Vancouver. The move was a great success! It's affordable, accurate with delivery date, and reliable.

The movers were quick. They were done picking up and dropping off our boxes in one hour.

We paid 50 cents per pound which is the most affordable rate in comparison to other moving companies.

We were very happy to have used them and will use them again!

Long-distance move from Ontario to British Columbia

A successful move.

"Transplanting" humans isn't always fun. I must be one of the lucky ones. My move wasn't a big one: < 500 sq-ft or < 4000 Lbs; but a long one: from Eastern Ontario to the Pacific Coast. Once my goods were loaded, I examined the used up space in their truck & noticed how everything was packed & my mattress marked a boundary, which I thought was clever. I also knew that my load was to be transfered in Toronto. Then the worries set in like: 'Did they forget anything'; 'Did something go missing while on their dock ?'. Landmark's staff including Mr.Mark reassured me that my move was safe in their secure facility. I was also kept informed as to the progress & arrival in BC. All my belongings including antiques & collectibles were delivered in less than an hour. (No stairs or distances to contend with).
"A piece 'o cake!" Later when all was unpacked; nothing went missing & no damages were found. Landmark did good !!

Long haul move.

The movers arrived on time. The 2 men were very good and wrapped all my fragile things. They were done in good time and were careful and polite. On arrival I had 2 different men who seemed agitated and even I was helping them but they were not too eager to place heavy objects in place where I wanted them. They were in a bad mood. I had everything that I packed myself and nothing was missing or broken. The 2 men on delivery were complaining about the time of day because it was dark out and they could not see in the back of the tracker trailer, so they were having a difficult time. Anyone thinking about this company, should make sure that they arrive during the daylight hours.

Good experience.

Everything went smoothly, I moved from Edmonton to Kelowna in the winter and everything arrived at destination on time. I shopped around before deciding on this mover, they offer the cheapest and quickest service around. I would recommend this mover.

Extortion Artists.

Was moving from Toronto to Vancouver, nothing was delivered on time. I ended up waiting an additional month for my belongings. They held my things hostage in a rough neighbourhood, and refused to allow me access until I paid an additional fee for storage which at no point I had requested. They were rude, evasive and I feel cheated. The only reason I have my things is that I went to the uhaul where my things were (I got that out of them at least) and I had to explain the whole situation to the staff there who took pity on me and gave me access to the unit. When I opened it, not only were some of my things missing, but another persons things were in the unit with mine and I'm pretty sure they were in the same situation as I was. These people are liars and cheats. Do not hire them.

Long-distance move from Ontario to Nova Scotia

Beware this company.

Beware using this moving company. I moved from Ontario to Nova Scotia. First, I got an estimate and the real payment was way higher than what their representative on the phone confirmed. Second, the company's employees came late for pick up and were very unhelpful, handled my stuff ruffly, and were not welcoming any questions. Third, I received my shipped items two months than expected. Fourth, I lost half of shipment, and most of my other shipped items were either damaged or totally broken (not usable anymore). Fifth, employees who follow up the missing items were rude, unresponsive, and not caring. Sixth, the total compensation for loss is $30. I lost what worth more than $3000.
Most definitely I will sew them but the pain of losing valuable items emotionally is irreplaceable. This company do not care at all about you or your interest. All they care about is your money. Beware Landmark Van Lines.

Long-distance move from Ontario to British Columbia

Do your homework.

Do your homework and check Better Business Bureau(41complaints in 1 year)Read reviews. The good one are written by the staff at Landmark. They have no office to go into and discuss their billing etc. Their registered address is a postal box. If you have been taken advantage of report it to Consumer Protection. If they have charged your credit card inappropriately, call the credit card company. Our credit card company reversed charges. It was a lot of home work for us to get this done but worth it. We reported it to Consumer protection and they say they are investigating Landmark and encourage anyone to come forward with their story.
I have boxes missing and boxes that were taped with other tape after things were stolen. We videoed our belongings being brought off the truck broken, ripped open, etc. Their claim department is not real. They never reply. They wouldn't unlock the moving truck until we gave them the credit card. This was AFTER our invoice had been paid and actually debitted MORE than the invoice amount. Our credit card company says it is illegal to charge more than 10% of an estimate. Landmark are very good at their game. But they can't continue much longer if we all stand up to them. Contact us for advise. We feel for all the others going through what we did. The staff at Landmark were very rude, and lied to us over and over. They ignored billing issues by making up names of staff we need to talk to. Fictitious staff. The games are endless. We would love to hear from others having this horrible experience.
We need to stop these people.
With all of the complaints and problems with Landmark, it's amazing they continue the game. If they were legitimate professional business owners, they would have quit from the stresses. But they obviously make far too much money doing this game so they continue.

Long-distance move from Quebec to Ontario

Stay Away From This Company.

HERE IS PART # 1.. NEVER RECEIVED A REPLY BACK FROM THIS LETTER.. DO NOT TRUST MATTHEW HE IS A TOTAL FRAUD AND LIAR.. HE REFUSED TO TALK DIRECTLY WITH US THE RECEPTIONIST KEPT SAYING HE WAS OUT OF THE OFFICE.. WE HAD A FRIEND CALL AND HE GOT CONNECTED RIGHT AWAY.. Matthew,   As you know by now our move never got done yesterday and I am extremely upset with you. This has caused us an incredible amount of stress because you misled me.   We hired two movers to move everything inside the house out to the garage and street side to make things easier for your movers. We paid each of them $120.00 and we fully expect this amount of $240.00 to be deducted from our final bill.   * 2:30 - I called your office to ask when the truck would be arriving.. The lady who answered said she had no idea and told us to "call the driver yourself".. That's such wonderful customer relations that she passed this onto me..   * 2:40 - I called the driver and I was totally SHOCKED what he told. - earliest I will be there is 7pm - I have still have another load north of Ottawa - you will be my 4th and last load today - I have a 28 foot truck but not sure if everything will fit    2:50 - I immediately called your office back and told the same lady what the driver just told me.. I explain that this was not acceptable and that we wanted an answer asap -  she said "I need to speak to my dispatch manager and I will call you back" WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR HER CALL BACK   3:15 - no call back / I called your office and no answer   3:30 - no call back / I called your office and no answer   3:45 - no call back / I called your office and no answer   4:00 - no call back / I called your office and no answer   4:15- no call back / I called your office and no answer   4:16 - I called the driver and said can you pick up tonight and deliver tomorrow - NO..  I will need to unload tonight even if it is well after midnight        - can you pick up on Monday; you need to speak to office          - told him that 7pm was unacceptable   4:22 - I called your office back again and of course there was no answer,I left a voice message asking for a return call to discuss this HORRIBLE situation. STILL WAITING FOR A CALL BACK   Once it was obvious that the lady had no intention to call me back and our move was not going to happen my husband had to move the furniture around in the garage to make room for the items we had moved out by the street. What a HORRIBLE thing for him to have to do.   Matthew; we fully expect our move to happen tomorrow with no exceptions or excuses. We have endured a terrible situation because you basically lied to me. I want to speak to the senior person at Landmark so please send me his name and contact information.   Call me as soon as you have read this; Diana   * THE MOVE WAS SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN ON A SATURDAY* IT FINALLY HAPPENED ON THE FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY * NO COMPENSATION TO US AFTER ALL WE WENT THROUGH.

Local move within Ontario

Hidden fees and terrible customer service.

We were charged more than double our estimate, and when we asked for the invoice it took over two weeks to be emailed to us. Every time we called the office we were promised that someone would email us or call us back within a few minutes, hours, or days, which never happened; we had to call back every day to ask for our updated bill. When we finally received the new invoice it had additional charges with a new, heavier weight. When we called to clear up the discrepancies we were passed around, hung up on, yelled at, and condescended to. Its been 25 days since they picked up our items, and even though we are finally able to pay the increased amount, our stuff can't be delivered to us for another two weeks. We didn't move across the country, we only moved across Ontario, so on top of being stressful this is just ridiculous. .
